THE SWEATER YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR

Finding the perfect sweater in a store is next to impossible. It’s almost always baggy in the mid-section and either too long or too short. And if you find one that fits, the store is probably sold out of the color or style you want (and good luck finding it again the next season). At Michael Andrews Bespoke, we have solved this problem with our custom sweater program designed to give you exactly what you’ve been looking for.

  • Custom knitwear starts at just $295.
  • Choose from dozens of styles – and we can even custom design a style just for you.
  • Each sweater is woven to your measurements for an exceptional fit.
  • Chose from over 100 different yarns in a range of colors.
  • Select from cashmere in four different weights and merino wool in two different weights.
  • Customize your sweater with styling options including monogramming, contrast stitching or piping, elbow patches, pockets, zippers, buttons and more.
  • Compliment your custom sweater with our other custom casual offerings including jeans, sport coats, leather jackets, and polos.

HOW IT WORKS

If you are an existing client who has recently ordered a suit, sport coat or shirt, we can use your measurements on file to accurately gauge the size of your sweater. If you have a particular fit preference for your sweaters, just let us know and we will factor that into our calculations.

If you are a new client, you can schedule an appointment (either in-store or in-home), where we will take the measurements we need. We can also work with you over Zoom to get the measurements we need without meeting with you in person.

Mercerized merino wool is the ultimate utility player as it can be made into just about any style in a fine or medium knit weight. Oh, and “mercerized” doesn’t mean it lives in Soho. It means it has a smooth and lustrous finish, will resist pilling and shrinking, and can be machine washed on delicate (although we still recommend dry cleaning).

Cashmere is the ultimate luxury in knitwear. Like merino, it can be made in almost any style from fine knit polos to chunky handknit shawls and will surely elevate any garment for which it’s been knit. Many clients often ask us which is better, cashmere or wool? The short answer is well…that depends. Cashmere is warmer and softer, but wool is more durable and resilient. Apart from that, the main consideration is price. Because cashmere is more rare and luxurious, it tends to cost about 40% more. Does that make it better? Well, that depends…

If cashmere is the ultimate luxury in knitwear, then Loro Piana’s cashmere is for the 1% of the 1%. We’ll be candid, it’s not cheap so it’s not for everyone, but if you want the world’s best cashmere then this distinctive collection from Loro Piana is for you.

Pima cotton is perfect for lightweight knitwear. When you are headed to the beach then this is the layer you’ll want when the sun goes down. Also, it’s a great choice for those who tend to run “hot” and don’t want to overheat when stepping back inside from the cold.

Silk and cashmere are two of the world’s most luxurious fibers and spinning them together really creates something special. Like pima cotton, this quality favors lightweight knits, although it will wear a degree warmer than cotton. This makes it ideal for layering under your casual jackets as a crew neck, v-neck, or cardigan, as well as for wear on it’s own.
