An Evening with Loro Piana

Exploring the Art of Italian Clothmaking at Michael Andrews Bespoke

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting an evening dedicated to timeless Italian craftsmanship as we welcomed Loro Piana to our NoHo flagship. Guests experienced an intimate presentation of the mill’s newest Fall/Winter fabric collections, an exploration of texture, tradition, and innovation that defines the essence of modern luxury.

From cashmere flannel to superfine Merino wool, the collection represented everything Loro Piana is known for: meticulous artistry, an obsession with quality, and fabrics designed to be lived in, not just admired. The evening was a celebration of craftsmanship, style, and the continued collaboration between two names that share a commitment to refinement and individuality.

Craftsmanship Meets Character

Few names in the world of tailoring evoke as much reverence as Loro Piana. For generations, the Italian mill has transformed the world’s rarest natural fibers into cloths of remarkable softness and strength. This season’s collection continues that legacy, balancing elegance and ease with fabrics designed to perform as beautifully as they look.

At Michael Andrews Bespoke, these cloths take on new life. Cut and crafted to each client’s precise measurements, they become garments that move effortlessly between boardroom, evening, and weekend—pieces that define understated confidence.

The Looks

Cory – Modern Minimalism

Cory’s look was an ode to Armani: fluid, sensuous, and powerful in equal measure. The muted palette and low 6×1 button stance recalled classic ’90s tailoring, but with a contemporary edge. Commanding peak lapels and subtle structure brought balance and presence to a silhouette that feels easy yet intentional.

This is the kind of suit for a man who wears one because he chooses to, not because he has to.

Brady – Old Hollywood Revival

Brady’s look drew inspiration from the golden age of cinema, think Cary Grant charm with a modern rhythm. Cut from 100% Superfine Merino Wool in Loro Piana’s Proposte Abiti collection, this charcoal Donegal suit embodies texture and depth. Wide lapels, pleated trousers, and patch pockets give the look an elegant fullness, while contemporary tailoring keeps it sharp and wearable.

Styled with a vintage ’40s tie and white oxford shirt, the result was pure timelessness.

Michael – Power in Pattern

Michael’s look was a study in controlled boldness. A chalk stripe flannel from Loro Piana, woven with a touch of stretch for comfort, became the foundation for a suit that commands attention without shouting. Soft Neapolitan shoulders and precise tailoring create a relaxed confidence, while the double pleats and side adjusters add refinement.
This is the suit for someone who knows presence is a choice and wears it well.

Herman – Effortless Transitions

From a fall workday in Manhattan to martinis at The Ivory Peacock, Herman’s look captures refined ease at its best. This chocolate tweed with a subtle blue check from Loro Piana strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and polished.

The alpaca-wool blend offers warmth without weight, while the blue check deepens both texture and tone. Styled with a denim shirt, a navy knit tossed over the shoulders, vintage Carrera shades, and tobacco suede loafers, it’s effortless sophistication for when the day turns into night.

Julien – Donegal Redefined

This dark green Donegal pairs perfectly with a denim dress shirt, one of our favorite fall combinations. Typically a more utilitarian fabric, Loro Piana has employed a finer wool that is what you would come to expect from the esteemed luxury brand making this great for casual wear that maintains luxury. It’s the sport coat equivalent of enjoying caviar on a potato chip.

The Fabric of Italian Excellence

For Loro Piana, fabric is more than material—it’s a medium. Each collection begins with a pursuit of the finest fibers on earth and ends with cloth that captures the intersection of heritage and innovation. Whether it’s a flannel that drapes like silk or a wool with just enough stretch for movement, the craftsmanship is invisible yet undeniable.

At Michael Andrews Bespoke, these fabrics are transformed into garments that fit seamlessly into modern life. Tailored with intention, they bridge the worlds of comfort, confidence, and understated luxury.
