A Night in Portofino

Last month, we had the pleasure of hosting our friends from Tallia di Delfino, one of Italy’s most revered fabric mills—alongside the team behind Portofino Gin for an evening dedicated to two of life’s finer indulgences: exceptional tailoring and exceptional taste. With a toast of gin in hand, we raised our glasses to both Portofino collections in celebration of a Night in Portofino.

Tallia’s summer-weight fabric has quickly become a seasonal favorite in our bespoke lineup—and for good reason.

Lightweight. Luxurious. Unmistakably Italian.

Woven in Italy from an artful blend of superfine wool, silk, and linen, the Portofino fabric brings together breathability and elegance. With its soft hand, understated texture, and fluid drape, it’s ideally suited for unstructured jackets, spring suits, and warm-weather pants—especially for those whose summer calendars include rooftop cocktails, weekend escapes, or garden soirées.

Portofino in Action: Custom Looks from Our Team

As part of the celebration, each member of our team selected a favorite length of fabric to create a one-of-a-kind piece. Here’s how we’re wearing Portofino—and the inspiration behind each look.

Shane – Tonal Texture with a New York Edge

Shane chose a refined monochrome look with a mix of materials. Wool, linen, and silk that captures the relaxed charm of the Italian Riviera with a distinctly New York sensibility. The Old Hollywood-inspired silhouette brings subtle drama, while tonal textures add depth and sophistication.

A silk polka dot pocket square lends a playful wink. Dressed up with a black linen shirt and loafers or worn open-collar for travel, this look proves that a great look can be put together with only a single color.

Cory – Amalfi-Inspired Ease

Cory’s look channels the easy elegance of 1990s tailoring, reimagined for today. Cut from Tallia di Delfino’s featherlight Splendido fabric, his suit drapes effortlessly while retaining a crisp, structured shape.

Designed with movement and comfort in mind, it’s the kind of suit you could wear from a Zoom call to an aperitivo. Smart, effortless, and undeniably stylish—this is laid-back tailoring with the polish of the Amalfi Coast.

Herman – From Espresso to Sunset

Herman opted for an ivory suit that transitions effortlessly from morning meetings to golden-hour drinks. The fabric—Portofino’s signature wool-silk-linen blend—stays cool and breathable, no matter the temperature.

He layered it over a Japanese selvedge denim shirt for a rugged contrast, with a cable-knit sweater ready for the evening chill. Versatile, polished, and quietly bold, this look speaks to modern coastal sophistication.

Michael – Tailored Light, Worn Easy

Michael went bold with a burnt sienna double-breasted suit, crafted from Portofino and finished with his signature touches: soft spalla camicia shoulder, lightweight half-lining, and a fluid interior.

His pants feature a single pleat, extended waistband, and pin-tuck crease—a flattering silhouette built for movement. Worn open-collar with sunglasses, it’s pure relaxed elegance. Button it up with a tie and printed shirt, and it transitions effortlessly to more formal settings.

The Summer Fabric You’ve Been Waiting For

If you’re in search of the perfect warm-weather cloth, the Portofino collection from Tallia di Delfino checks every box. It’s lightweight, breathable, and quietly luxurious—tailored for summer living, whatever your destination.
